Popular UK-licensed online casino brands ComeOn and Get Lucky will leave the UK market later this month, meaning players can no longer access either casino.
The operator says that it took the decision to exit the UK market so that it could focus on “more favourable” markets such as Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
ComeOn and Get Lucky have provided a timeline for withdrawal for how they will leave the UK, which you can find below:
As of 23rd September 2019: ComeOn! and Get Lucky will stop accepting new players living in the UK.
As of 27th September 2019: ComeOn! and Get Lucky will stop accepting deposits from existing players living in the UK and their accounts will be closed.
If you have an active account with ComeOn! or Get Lucky you can withdraw funds at any time from now until 29th September 2019.
After that time, you will have to contact customer support to request for funds in your online gambling account to be transferred to your bank account or eWallet.
This is the full statement issued by ComeOn! regarding its decision to leave the UK market:
The UK is a very mature and highly competitive market and the financial risks are big. We have never had a non-compliance breach, but we’ve seen competitors being fined big numbers and that creates uncertainty.
At the same time the UK-licence has lost its symbolic value. Before you almost had to have one to be looked upon as a credible company. Today we hold licences in many European countries and given that the UK has never been a big market for us, it’s a wise move to put our focus elsewhere.
This is of course disappointing as ComeOn! and Get Lucky were two of our recommended brands and were firm favourites among our readers.
We also disagree that a licence from the UK Gambling Commission has lost its importance.
The regulator is one of the best in the world and operators that hold a UK licence meet the highest possible standards when it comes to responsible gambling and player protection.
So, if you haven’t already, give them a try!
